mw2Come Sunday (4th of October) and we will get all new Modern Warfare 2 trailer. Robert Bowling, Community Manager, is about to embark on promotional tour of Europe. He said on his Twitter page that a whole new trailer is incoming.

This is the Tweeted message: “Just reviewed the final cut, this is the one I’ve been waiting for! All new Modern Warfare 2 trailer hits online Sunday, OCT 4th!”

Did he sound as if something new will be there online on Sunday?

Yes, Certainly.

This is also a prove that the game is on track for the November 10 release date. They will definitely hit the mark.

Recently Infinity Ward also said that they have not shown everything yet in the game. So, let us hope that the trailer will hold few surprises for us.

No local matchmaking for Modern Warfare 2 confirms Bowling

September 29th, 2009

Modern_Warfare_2_There will be no option to allow players to search multiplayer games within the same region or same country. This has been confirmed by Infinity Ward after several requests by international players in improving lag in the game.

Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist of Infinity Ward, posted on Twitter saying, “There isn’t an option to search specific regions/ countries when matchmaking, but there is improved matchmaking to auto-assist.” He writes further that the improved matchmaking system will be automatically connecting players to games that best suits for their connection.

When Robert Bowling asked whether local matchmaking in a later patch could be added, then he said that it was a possibility. He wrote, “We’ll monitor community feedback closely post launch to see if the improved matchmaking benefits international users or not.”

There was also a large thread generated in the Infinity Ward forums by a New Zealand user. He described his playing experience there in the previous series of the game against North American players.

He wrote: “You encounter an enemy, you shoot at him with enough rounds for a kill with your AK or your sniper rifle and the ‘X’ damage indicator comes up. But for some reason you die and he does not. You watch the killcam to see why you died, and apparently you didn’t even fire off a shot. You just got killed by lag.”

No demo before November 10 twitters Infinity Ward

September 27th, 2009

modernwarfare2-twitterThere will be no demo of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before the launch on November 10. This has been confirmed Infinity Ward through their Twitter account.

On Twitter Infinity Ward writes: “No plan for a Demo before launch. The entire team is focused on polish all the way up to ship of the full game.”

May be as a fan it does not sounds good because we are eager to get a demo of it to the earliest.

Well, there is a good reason on part of Infinity Ward. They want to keep the excitement of the game till it is shipped.

If we recall, demo of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was also not released and a demo for Call of Duty: World at War was released after the launch.

Experience on beta version shared by a writer

September 26th, 2009

modern-warfare2-multiplayer

While browsing on the net to get some personal experiences of people who have played the beta version of Modern Warfare 2, I came across a good article titled ‘Modern Warfare 2 – Multiplayer hands-on’ written by Renato Leon on zikkir.com.

He says in his article that he was probably influenced by the theater screen, surround sound and free Mountain Dew after playing the beta version for few hours. He starts the article as, “Modern Warfare 2 is the shit, to put it briefly.”

Leon said that Infinity Ward could have walked on the success of CoD4 and instead they could have released a moderately updated game with some new maps and weapons, but they have updated everything and yet not they did not loose the charm of the original.

About the game the author writes that everything is more intense in it. The sounds of ricochest, bullets zipping, bloody deaths, shaking explosions and everything is twice as powerful. Though Modern Warfare 2 is similar to Call of Duty 4, but the textures of the game are more crisper and the visual is more emphatic.

He writes further that the new weapons, perks and all other additions have increased the strategies and techniques in the game. The maps are not dull. As a whole, all the additions maintain the usual level of IW’s ambiance and factual accuracy.

You can’t shoot with riot shield out

September 23rd, 2009

modernwarfare2There were few important interviews of Infinity Ward last week in Los Angeles at the Modern Warfare 2 event. Some more information has been detailed on the game’s multiplayer. Items such as the riot shield were more talked about and assurances about martyrdom were also given by Infinity Ward.

In fact one of the most visible additions to the game’s multiplayer is the riot shield and it allows the players to completely block enemy fire. A good reason has been given by Infinity Ward behind this item and it has been also assured that it won’t break the game.

Todd Alderman, the multiplayer design lead said, “There is even something in there for people that can’t shoot…You get the riot shield and your job is to help your team.”

Fans of Modern Warfare 2 are worried about the riot shield that it may unbalance the game.

Infinity Ward says that the shield will only act as a primary weapon. With it players will be able to hold it with pistols. To it Alderman said, “So when you have the riot shield out, you can’t shoot. All you are doing is blocking.”

Well, there has been no word found in the interview on how this might be affected by a return of the overkill perk from CoD4 that allow the players to carry two primary weapons at once.

On e-bay Prestige Edition is tagged far more

September 20th, 2009

ebay

When we carried an article on July 16th this year titled Prestige Edition tagged $149.99, there was a comment reading “I am not gonna get the prestige edition. It just costs too much…”

Well, such comments and reactions were common when Activision announced the price of the Prestige Edition.

Now we find that scalpers are even charging more than that for Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition. Shifty-eyed con-merchants have now descended upon eBay with their ill-gotten wars after, as we know, it is sold out in United Kingdom.

And… the worst part of it is that people are in fact paying these prices. Take a look here.

One of the sellers even has pushed his luck in an attempt to charge $250 for the full kit of Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition.

The best part… it is a prove that fans really need the game.

Well, do comment.
