Hope MW2 break all records in the industry

May 31st, 2009

Couple of days before Infinity Ward released the first lengthy trailer. Unofficially the developer announced last year in November that this November 10 MW2 will arrive. From then and till recent days, Infinity Ward has tried everything to spark the gaming industry and keep the gamers thirsty.

Thomas Tippl, the CFO of Activision said recently, “Modern Warfare 2 will not only raise the bar, but will be the best selling video game of all time.” Obviously. If it is so much of hype from the developer then it will become the best selling video game. Hope it may sell more than 41.65 million, which is the amount of Wii Sports games that have been sold worldwide to date.

The Original Modern Warfare set the bar for the shooter genre. Let us hope the same from Modern Warfare 2. At least judging by the full length trailer we can say that. Not only me, but readers have also commented something good for the game. They have all the good wishes for the game and expect that it fulfill their expectations on November 10.

MW2 is suhhhweeeet & awesomeeee

May 30th, 2009

“I love MW2” says one of the readers after the release of the first full length trailer of the game. One more says, “suhhhhhweeeeeeeeeet.” Not to forget this expression for Modern Warfare 2 – “Awesomeeeeeeeee , can’t wait .” “Looking Nice” and “Looking Good” are the general reactions of readers on this website.

“I never judged a game by trailer. Trailers are all confusingly fast and chaotic so you cannot tell anything about the game. Just check MW1 trailers. Same thing, but game at the end was awesome. I am looking forward for MW2 and I am glad that they kept Call of Duty prefix.” Ah! Lots of reactions and lots of expectations from our readers. Hope Infinity Ward listen to them all.

Let us check out what exactly the fans of MW2 wants from the game when it is released on November 10 this year.

One of the fans said, “Hope the game lets you have more vehicle levels (only in single player). I no there is going to be at least two and at least that was more than COD4 but I would welcome more.”

Upon several complaints about the graphics one of our readers says, “This is a game on its own, the graphics is just fine, anything higher would kill the normal computer. The thing we can expect different in the final version is sounds/gunsounds.”

3 screenshots of Modern Warfare 2

May 26th, 2009

The first full-length trailer of Modern Warfare 2 has been already launched. The previous post here has the video of it. There are mixed reactions among our regular readers and of course the fans of MW2. Few says it is awesome where as other says they expected better than this. One of our readers also commented that the explosions, the fire effects and the character models look fake.

Ah! That’s the reactions only with a two minutes video. Anyways, here are three screenshots that were unveiled to the public.

Let me wrap up about the game. It seems that the game has a very interesting plot. Its actions happen all over the globe. The game will be released on November 10 this year and it is available for pre-order now.

First full length trailer released

May 25th, 2009

As Infinity Ward promised to release the trailer on Sunday, they did so. A new two minutes trailer of the game was aired during the NBA Eastern Conference finals on Sunday. The trailer showed some impressive-looking environments. It covered all – land, air and sea. It showed some gruesome knifings that appeared to be an assault on a castle. It was just fantastic.

Whatever we had seen of Modern Warfare 2 earlier was just a tease. The first trailer of MW2 was released during GDC. It practically showed nothing. The second was unveiled earlier this month with only few seconds of game play. Sunday’s trailer seems to confirm the MW2’s US/European special forces vs. rogue Russians storyline that has been carried on from the original Modern Warfare.

This new full length trailer also shows more of the snowmobile sections that was hinted at in the previous trailer. It included a wicked looking takedown of someone gunning at full acceleration on a snowmobile.

The two minutes trailer ends with an attack on what looks like a European castle.

The game is due out for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 10 this year.

Modern Warfare 2 full length trailer to hit TV channel

May 24th, 2009

Within few hours the full length of Modern Warfare 2 trailer will hit the TNT TV channel. Much expectations are there among all MW2 fans. Before that let us check out few expectations of gamers.

Two weeks before we carried an article What gamers want of Modern Warfare 2. We have received more than three hundred comments till date. Few of them are really interesting. Hope someone from the MW2 studio may read the comments and suggestions of gamers.

Here are few of the most common of those comments:

• I think that there should be more classes, instead of 5 maybe 10.
• I think they should have as many helis as possible n in ground war should be 20 on each ground war they should make a lobby with a massive map and xbox people vs ps3 people.
• I would like to see more levels like “Death from above.
• NO VEHICLES. Once that happens it becomes BF:BC.
• I want customizable weapons like Rainbow 6 vegas 2 an customizable armor for charcaters like in R6V2.
• The thing i really want in modern warefare 2 is more rifles, single shot guns
• I would also like to see some multiplayer maps where it is almost completely dark and requires you to play with night vision goggle.

Enemies will no more constantly respawn in MW2

May 21st, 2009

In Modern Warfare 2 fighting with terrorists is much easier than the original Modern Warfare. In it, enemies will no more constantly respawn as they had been doing in previous version of Call of Duty games.

We have seen in Call of Duty games that a constant stream of enemies would spawn and attack gamer character until he/she advanced or completed an objective. To this feature of the game, gamers always had mixed reactions.

Contrary to this, it also keeps the fight frantic and forces gamers to constantly be on the offensive. Moreover, to have enemy after enemy spilling out of a little hut is very artificial.

Recently the CCO of Infinity Ward, Jason West said, “We are aware of it and we’re actively trying to eliminate it.” He added further while briefing to Game Informer, “I think we agree that it’s not very good.”
It is many a time said earlier that MW2 will not be like its predecessor Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Even it will not bear the Call of Duty name. Now, if the spawn system is eliminated then it seems like it will distance Modern Warfare 2 from other COD series.

First gameplay footage of MW2

May 20th, 2009

The first gameplay footage of the Modern Warfare 2 has been aired by TNT. This video will surely leave gamers wanting more and more but it includes quite enough of tidbits to keep gamers mind busy for days. The following few things can be seen in the video footage of the game:

About the vehicles – The extent of the involvement of vehicles remains to be seen but it does show a first-person view on a snowmobile.

The Gunship Returns – AC-130 gunship looks to be making another cameo.

Hand-to-Hand Combat – If we follow the footage closely, we will come across one scene on a snowy airfield showing a character being hip-tossed and thrown to the ground.

Swimming – The footage video of the game gives the hint of the ability to swim, at least in one mission that makes us think getting from Point-A to Point-B might not be as linear as CoD: MW.

Check the video below and do comment if you see something else that has been overlooked here. The second gameplay trailer of MW2 will be aired on May 24th during the Eastern Conference Finals.

MW2 will have lot of variety says Jason West

May 17th, 2009

News comes that MW2 will be featuring wide open gameplay that will have a lot of variety in it. This statement comes from Jason West, the President of Infinity Ward through an extensive ten-page feature in the Game Informer, US magazine. The feature article of the magazine also reveals some more key new details regarding the hotly-anticipated Modern Warfare 2.

It says that the plot of the game is set to a backdrop of continued Russian Federation instability. But it will make gamers flung from Siberia to Afghanistan and also through the slums of Rio De Janeiro.
The expectations of the game: chases on snowmobiles, a single-player experience which takes a bit longer to complete than the original Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward is actively trying to eliminate the endless respawning enemies which caused problems for sneakier players in the original Modern Warfare. There are also riot shields, movable turrets, customisable weapons, and of course more acrobatic player movements (now one can swim and even climb ice ledges), and a fully separate co-op mode that features its own levels.

Meanwhile, we covered a story about what gamers want in MW2 recently and we received good comments from readers and gamers. Keep on commenting on the article What gamers want of Modern Warfare 2
